IF-News04 : Implementation of VDS in Dar es Salaam Port
Vessel Delay Surcharge (VDS) has been implemented by all major shipping lines operating to/from Dar es Salaam / Tanzania port. The fee is compensating the shipping lines for the big delays in vessel handling as caused by the severe port congestion.The applicable tariffs levied are : -20ft containers Import/Transit via DAR USD 200 -40ft containers Import/Transit via DAR USD 400
